This assignment is 2 parts
PART 1: Part One should be 13 pages long. Peer-reviewed journal articles are required (minimum 15 total in PART ONE all within the last 5 years of publication). Additional sources, such as books can be used as well.
The question in this category emphasizes the integration and synthesis of relevant theory and conceptual principles in early childhood education. Comprehension and critical thinking in the field of early childhood is necessary.
Using a minimum of ten peer-reviewed articles from early childhood compare and contrast at least three theories applicable to early childhood.
Using one of the theories discussed above, select five additional peer-reviewed sources and explain how the theory adds or may add to our understanding of your specialization. Include a discussion of controversy or unanswered questions related to the theory.
PART 2: This section should be 14 pages long using 18 peer-reviewed sources within the last 5 years. Additional sources, such as books are acceptable.
This question involves the application of relevant theory and research to real life situations, considering social, cultural, and ethical issues as appropriate. Compose a response that solves specific problems and discuss implications of their ideas for application with a broad range of issues in the field of early childhood.
Referencing at least eight peer-reviewed journal articles, respond to the following questions:
How can theory guide or inform practice?
What are the issues involved in translating theory into practice?
Identify at least an additional ten peer-reviewed articles (published in the last 5 years) that address how one of the theories you discussed in PART 1 has been applied. Critically evaluate the appropriateness of the uses to which the theory has been applied. Consider, for example: Are the applications premised upon an accurate understanding of the theory and its scope? Do the applications ?go beyond? what the theory claims? Is the reasoning linking application and theory sound?
