For this graded assignment you will be creating a culturally competent teaching plan for your clients. Your teaching plan needs to address a teaching topic that would typically take 15-20 minutes to teach. The teaching plan you develop for this graded project will serve as the foundation for your final graded project involving the actual teaching presentation. Use the outline provided here.
Using the selected goal from HP 2020 create the teaching plan that follows.
1. Identify the purpose of the lesson.
2. Describe the selected goal from Healthy People 2020.
3. Discuss either the primary or secondary cultural characteristics with specific consideration related to your client group to meet their learning needs.
4. Identify 2-3 behavioral objectives that your client group will learn from the presentation.
5. Select a learning domain and give a rationale as to why and how it will be utilized in your teaching presentation to meet that domain.
6. Identify and describe the information or content the teaching session will cover.
7. Describe the method of instruction you will be using and how much time is needed.
8. Explain the rationale for your selected teaching tool (power point, brochure, power point with voiceover, or poster) and what resources will be used to present the information to your client group.
9. Identify evidence-based resources that you will use about this topic .
10. Develop methods to evaluate your client group to measure desired learning outcomes.
11. The teaching plan should be well written, organized, and supported by 5 current scholarly references (within the last 5 years).
12. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are correct.
13. Conforms to APA standards for citations and reference page.
Use Bastable textbook and the teaching plan rubric as a reference and guide. Your assignment will be graded using the grading rubric. Be sure to submit this assignment in the drop box for grading by the end of week 6 (and in the week 6 discussion area by Wednesday).
