A Doll’s House and Antigone. Both of these plays feature strong female characters.
Well. At least the argument can be made that Nora is strong by the end of the play.
Both of these characters stand up to social constructs. Antigone to the literal law,
Nora to the social law, particularly in regards to marriage. These characters are
separated by a couple thousand years, are they similar? Look at these plays through
an archetypal lens and see if you can draw similarities between the two characters,
their male protagonists, and the societies which constrain them.
