Position Paper Due

A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to. Your job is to take one side of an argument and persuade your audience that you have well-founded knowledge of the topic being presented. It is important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims, as well as to address the counterclaims to show that you are well informed about both sides.

Question at Issue:  Do you think Lucy violated the UHD Honesty Policy?

Using the “Grading Guide for Lucy Position Paper,” you are to write a position paper justifying why you think Lucy violated or did not violate the UHD Honesty Policy.  Follow the guide carefully as that will help you learn how to write an effective position paper (and it is what I grade by).

2-3 pages in length double spaced, 11 pt.  Your written report in Word will be graded carefully for the requirements outlined as well as quality of content, grammar, format, style, clarity, proofreading and editing.
