Project Instructions
Persuasive Presentation
For this project, you may choose to write a persuasive essay or deliver a persuasive speech. You are going to make a follow-up to Pete Hamill’s “Libraries Face Sad Chapter” (Lesson 9). Your purpose is to convince your readers/audience to use the library more.
To prepare, refer to the “Research and Technology” section on page 239 of your textbook. Follow the directions given. Research the services offered by libraries today and collect information about the services and frequency of use for each of the services. Next, draft a simple outline to organize your ideas.
Your presentation should be organized logically and should include a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Refer back to Hamill’s essay to refresh your memory on persuasive structure. Type your outline on the next page. Use the sample outline as a model, but delete it and type your own. The outline is part of your project.
