At this point in the class you have probably done a lot of soul searching and
thinking about your relationships with other people and your relationship with
yourself. This is excellent! At this point in the course, we want to provide you with
a plan that you can take with you and continue to work on beyond the course.
Before we dive into the details, read the following article, “Build Your EQ With
These 7 Constructive Thinking Tools”
(https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/fulfillmentanyage/201506/buildyoureqthese7constructivethinkingtools) ), which does a great job tying in the theory of
making changes and the application of this theory in practical situations. This
should give you a good place to start when you begin thinking about ways you can apply and test your emotional intelligence skills. Another article
to read before you begin on this assignment is “10 Ways to Enhance Your Emotional Intelligence” (https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/yourmindyourbody/201201/10waysenhanceyouremotionalintelligence (https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/yourmindyourbody/201201/10
waysenhanceyouremotionalintelligence) ), which really dives into the emotional and physical feelings in our body, and offers several suggestions
(10 to be exact) ways you can specifically target increasing your EQ. It is highly suggested that you review Chapter 7 and the above articles before
you begin on this assignment.
For this final assignment, you will create a personal development plan. The plan should be 1,000 words in length, and you should use at least
three APA formatted references and citations in your plan. You are welcome to use the articles in this course as references. The template
below should be used in completing this assignment. Throughout the template, there are sections that you need to expand on in written form.

Personal Action Plan
Emotional Intelligence Competency Areas:
Decide on the order you want to develop each competency and explain how each competency will help you achieve your personal and professional goals (Approximately 250 words):
Below is a list of some of the emotional intelligence skills – a couple of slots have been left blank so you can add additional skills you may want to develop. Determine which skills you would like to develop and then rank them by the priority in which you would like to acquire them.
(Yes, No, Maybe)
Rank by Priority
(High, Mid, Low)
Why did you choose these skills? How will these skills help you achieve better results in your personal life? How will these skills help you achieve better results in your professional life? What are the benefits (value to you) of developing these skills and the cost of failing to develop these skills?(Approximately 250 words):
Next, you will create two plans – one for personal development, and one for professional development. For each plan, you will come up with two goals – these will likely be the goals you chose in Week 2. Next, list the skills you need to reach each of these goals, and then come up with ideas and strategies for self-directed coaching (see page 28 of the EI textbook), emotional mentoring (see pages 26-27 of the EI textbook), and active imagination (see page 29 of the EI textbook).(Approximately 500 words)
