– Choose one of the mysteries below and carefully work your way through the website. Be sure to pay attention to the sources provided because this assignment not only introduces you to fascinating puzzles in Canadian history but is designed to help you understand how historians use documents (see Learning Outcomes).
– For each mystery that you choose prepare a 400-500 word report that responds to the following questions:
o What is the mystery and why does it matter?
o What are some of the different ways to respond to the mystery?
o What sources did you find most helpful in understanding what actually happened? Describe these: are they Primary documents? Secondary documents? Who produced them? What particular perspective might the producer of the document bring to the question?
