Group Projects–Oral Presentation

Goal: To hold a lively, interesting discussion from which the listeners (classmates) and the presenters will gain insight and understanding of the research project you have worked on and its relevance to the African experience. Discussion/Presentation Tips:1. Identify the topic 2. Give a brief historical background on topic3. Relate topic to previous work covered in class4. Describe what shaped the author’s vision 5. Identify chapter/research questions6. Identify authors central argument 7. Show how the author supports argument using concrete evidence from text8. Discuss the contribution of this work to the African Experience 9. What is your critique of this work? Focus on its strengths and weaknesses.10. What did you learn about your research experience (individually and as a group) 11. If you were to do this project again, what would you do differently?

From chapter 13, critically analyze the economicimpact of the Atlantic Slave Trade on the continent of Africa.  Use specific examples to illustrate your answer.
