Leading People and Organization – Case study

You are required to address two points in your report based on the case study outlined in Brenneman below:
Brenneman, G. (1998). Right away and all at once: How we saved Continental. Harvard Business Review, 76(5), 162-173. (on BB in Lessons of Practice folder)
a.Explain how Brenneman’s leadership actions address or do not address each quadrant of the Competing Values Framework (Quinn et al., 2015, pp. 1-33)
b. Explain how Brenneman mastered cognitive and behavioural complexity (as discussed in Quinn et al, 2015, pp. 15-16 & 316 & 318;
Denison, Hooijberg & Quinn, 1995; Hart & Quinn, 1993) which might have prevented previous CEOs of Continental in turning the business around.
This task will demonstrate your comprehension of some the course materials both in relation to the real world case, and in your
personal experience as a leader manager.
Requirements for the Written Report
• Length of report: 2000 words (excluding references and appendix) + – 10%
• The report must be properly and fully referenced using the Harvard Business Reference style or American Psychological Association style
• Use clear and meaningful sub-headings
• 1½ spacing
• Proof-read to a high standard.

3. Introduction (an introduction to your report, not to the topic)
4. Body of Report (address the two points raised above under sub-headings)
5. Implications & Conclusion
