Topic :Media convergence and the transformed media environment in MENA region. A case study of UAE.

The Brief
Literature Search and Review
The assignment for this module is the completion of a literature survey and review on a relevant topic within the subject of media

management. It is aimed at assessing and must therefore demonstrate your skills of literature search and review, and an ability to

synthesize your findings into a coherent, scholarly discussion.
Your review paper should include the following:
Definition of the research topic.
A brief discussion of the scope and focus of your research project, indicating the areas of relevant literature. (You must confirm a

chosen topic with the instructor before commencing this assignment to be sure that you have a viable subject of enquiry to work with)
Literature search strategy and aims
You should offer a brief description of your aims and approach to the literature survey, and the sources (e.g. databases) you consulted.

You might also discuss any problems or difficulties in locating relevant research literature that you encountered
Critical review and evaluation pf the relevant literature
This should constitute the largest element of the assignment and should include a review and summary of the material you have explored. It

is important that you take a critical and evaluative approach, summarizing where possible the strengths/weaknesses and significant points

in previous research, rather than just listing and describing.
Reflections and discussion on the key findings from your review exercise
You should reflect on the knowledge that you have gained from this task and how these might enhance your study. Explain what you have

learned about the topic under exploration with regards to the media industry; describe any new knowledge or ideas you have acquired from

this task as a researcher.
