Mary Patillo’s Black on the block: The politics of race and class in the city.

My book critique is on Mary Patillo’s book black on the block: The politics of race and class in the city. Here are the guidelines for the critique. 1) a thorough discussion of the author’s theme ( main underlying idea): what question or problems does the book address?
2) describe the authors theoretical framework/premise. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the book? 3) methodological undertaking: what is e purpose of the text? Be sure to describe the book’s methods of development; if the book includes empirical research students should also discuss the methodology including sample, data analysis, and findings. 4) a discussion of the significance of the book in relation to the course; citing relevant course material where necessary. 5) An evaluation of the work, clearly presented and well supported. Of there is anything else you need to know let me know.
