Navigations Systems (GPS)

 

Instructions:
Read the attached article “Recalculating Navigation Needs”, published in Business Week, July 29-August 4, 2013, pp. 35-36.
Use this article as a point of departure to write a comprehensive report on navigations systems (GPS), both imbedded in vehicles and stand-alone devices. The main objective is to assess whether this market is attractive or not. You should use as many diagnostic tools as possible.
the report should be approximately 20 pages long, excluding cover page, table of content, bibliography and appendices. It should be typed in Times New Roman, 12pt, with 1.5 spacing and 2.5 cm margins on all sides. Be sure to number your report. You should base the content on published sources available at the library or on internet, but be sure to identify them clearly
In essence, the report must contain the following:
1. Executive summary: a one-page summary of your findings and a clear indication of whether the market is attractive or not; (2 points)
2. Historical background on GPS, with the technological evolutions and the main milestones; (3 points)
3. Description of the main brands of GPS, i.e. their marketing strategy, positioning and market shares; (5 points)
4. Evaluation of the competition using Porter’s framework; (3 points)
5. Future trends and personal appreciation of the attractiveness of the market.
