Philosophy

read Singer, P. Famine, Affluence, and Morality and write a 750-850-word reaction paper.
* The reaction paper requires the student to summarize the reading and then give a personal response which must reflect a logical argument, not merely feelings. 1/3 of the paper should be summary and 2/3 should be your response. The first paragraph should tell your audience about the author. The second paragraph should summarize the article. For the remaining paragraphs, explain the following: On which points do you agree with the author and why? On which points do you disagree with the author and why? Each point of agreement or disagreement should be a separate paragraph.
* The paper is to be single-spaced with the article citation at the top of the first page. Be sure to follow the MLA format. This is your title and it counts 7 points towards your grade for this assignment.
* The paper is to have a footer with right justification which includes the following information: a) student’s last name, first initial; and on the line below, b) the assignment (i.e. Reaction Paper).
* This assignment is to be placed on Moodle in MS Word format (“.doc” or “.docx” file extension ONLY) according to the following file name format: Lastname_Firstname_reaction_paper The grade will be reduced 3 points if it does not have the correct file name format.
* No .pdf files will be accepted.
* Details matter. Details matter in life, on the job, on your applications for jobs and financial loans, at home, in our relationships with others, and particularly in this paper. Please pay detailed attention the grading rubric, to your spelling, to your use of commas, and to your sentence structure. * Assignments will not be accepted later.
