Stress Release

a. Select one of the stress reduction strategies discussed in class or in the textbook to use to help alleviate the stress associated with the stressor

you identified in the first part of this assignment. Name the intervention you would like to use (5 points). Why would this intervention be helpful in

reducing the stressor you identified in part one of the project? (5 points). Why did you choose this over other options (identify the “active

ingredients” of the intervention you picked over another discussed in class or in the book; 5 points). This should be one double spaced page (Times New

Roman size 12 font, 1″ margins, name/date/course # in upper right corner)

b. Use the intervention you selected at least once a day for five days. Each day, keep track of your stress level (the stressor you identified in part

one) in a table format. Include notes on intensity, how the stressor is impacting you that day, and how/when you used the stress management

intervention. Identify how the intervention helps or does not help the stress level each day. (30 points) This part, including the table, should be one

double spaced page (Times New Roman size 12 font, 1″ margins) including the table.

c. Type a one-page reflective response about the project. Here I want you to each consider how the evidence-based stress management techniques we

discussed in the course can be used as tools throughout your life. Discuss why selecting interventions that have evidence demonstrating they work is

important and the possible consequences of using pseudoscientific/alternative medicine type interventions to reduce stress. (20 points). (Times New

Roman size 12 font, 1″ margins)
