WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT REPORT

You have been provided with a large database of water quality data collected as part of the National Rivers Water Quality Network (NRWQN) which was developed to provide long term monitoring of the health of New Zealand’s river systems (see details in Davies-Colley et al. 2011). The NRWQN is comprised of sets of sites distributed across regions. Within each region there are ‘baseline’ and ‘impact’ rivers. Baseline rivers have minimal human impact and are intended to serve as reference conditions. Impact rivers contain a variety of types of human activities in the catchments representative of the region. The sites have been sampled monthly from 2000 to 2013 for a variety of water quality parameters. You will need to extract the relevant data from the spread sheet to address the points which have been mentioned in ‘Water Quality Assessment Report Guidelines’.
