A focused research paper narrows your investigation on a particular topic for a particular purpose. It differs from a conventional research paper in that your research systematically and purposely excludes information and possibilities that do not directly relate to the purpose(s) for which you will use the information.
How this essay will be evaluated
This essay will be evaluated on the quality of the information, the clarity of the presentation, and the accuracy with which you document your sources. My prime question will be, “How well does this essay cover the writer’s reasons for choosing the topic, the search process s/he used, and the information gathered during the search?” Other elements of writing, including adherence to MLA or APA style, will also be evaluated
