After reviewing the NCSCOS (Common Core and Essential Standards), please respond to the following in one paragraph each:

1. What is the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy? Why should teachers understand and use this taxonomy? Why was it used in the development of the revised NCSCOS?

2. Vertical alignment is the articulation of facts/skills/concepts from one grade level to the next. In reviewing the NCSCOS, explain what you see in terms of the way that the facts/skills/concepts are developed from Kindergarten through high school.

3. In the NCSCOS (Common Core section for English/Language Arts), explain why there is embedded mention and attention to “Literacy Across the Curriculum.” What does this say to the teachers of all disciplines? Why is this a critical issue in today’s schools and society?
