Reassessment Coursework Template – Summer 2017

This document describes the arrangements which apply for all students who need to take reassessment or a first sit over the summer period. The template section is used where the original assessment task no longer applies at reassessment, in particular where the nature of the assessment has changed, for example from groupwork or a presentation to an individual coursework task. • Any coursework or other item submitted to the Student Hub must be handed in no later than 3pm on Monday 31st July.
• There is no late coursework period and there is no deferral process.
• Students should be aware that they are expected to submit all items of assessed work and may be withdrawn/discontinued from their programme if this is not the case.

MC6010: RESIT ASSESSMENT FOR COMPONENT 1 (20% WEIGHTING OF MODULE MARKS)
This is an individual piece of work, whereby you will be expected to re-work the group presentation brief provided on WebLearn as an individual report.
Please note that the word count should not exceed 2,000 words (excluding references and appendices).
Assessment Criteria:
1. Choose a brand (product/service) within the UK.
2. Conduct a PEST analysis.
3. Conduct an industry analysis using the five forces model (Porter, 1984).
4. Highlight any unique resources and capabilities associated with the brand/company.
5. Analyse forms of segmentation techniques that may be important to the brand.
6. Your recommendations including a strategy for the brand to take it into the future.
The individual report must be handed in to the Moorgate Hub by 3pm on 31st July 2017. Please ensure that your work has a coversheet with your name and student ID number, the module code and the module leader’s name.
