Chapter 9 talks about the stages of interpersonal relationships (pg 231-234) and Figure 9.1 summarizes the stages.
Select a film or TV show that features the stages in a relationship (e.g., He’s Just Not That Into You, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Grey’s Anatomy, etc.). It doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship, as there are many kinds of interpersonal relationships.
1. List AND explain the six stages of relationships in Chapter 9 in your own words. Be sure to cite your textbook.
2. Describe the selected film or TV show in terms of the six relationship stages. Be sure to select ONE relationship that goes through at least 5 of the 6 stages.
In other words, don’t pick one that is just at the beginning stages.
But it’s okay if the featured relationship doesn’t get all the way to the final stage, Dissolution.
For this part of the assignment, you should (1) briefly indicate and define (again) a particular stage of the model as you (2) describe what happens at that stage in the selected relationship.

Read Chapter 11, Conflict Management Stages (pg. 298-303). Pay particular attention to Figure 11.2, Stages in Conflict Resolution.
