South African communist party

 

The South African Communist Party was one of the earliest opponents of white rule and was closely allied with the African National Congress (led by Nelson Mandela) throughout the struggle to end apartheid. Describe the rise of the SACP, its ideology and its role in South African politics before, during and after the apartheid era. Be sure to explain its relationships with the African National Congress and with international communism.
